Canine Behavior Problems
Our
behavior consultations are provided as a guide to help you understand and
reduce specific behavior problems in a positive way.
Since
every dog has a unique temperament and different experiences we
unfortunately cannot address every situation in hand-outs, discussion
forums, or fact- sheets.
Our
friends at
Ponder Veterinary
Hospital
partner with us to help owners experiencing behavior problems with their
dogs, find successful solutions. They have a great database of up to date
articles on virtually every topic and we highly recommend reviewing the
articles and visiting with one of the vets at Ponder.

If you are
considering euthanasia or surrendering your dog to a shelter please call to
schedule a consult, where you can speak one on one with an experienced
Trainer/Behaviorist about the specifics of your situation and dynamics of
your dog.
We
strongly recommend positive reinforcement training methods, however, many
pets may have emotional or psychological problems that can not be solved
with obedience so you may need a behavior consult with our specialist or your
veterinarian. In some instances there may be health issues that underlie a
behavior issue so it is important to have a routine health check with your
veterinarian. In some cases additional tests may be necessary.
Our
evaluations will help you make an informed decision about your dogs’ needs
and future, and we will work with you to ensure that you have those facts
and the information necessary to do so. We include veterinary
work-ups/referrals, owner coaching, personalized training and behavior
modification, as well as written evaluations and plans, clearly identifying
progress points.
